Farmer Foodshare Volunteer Orientation

  • Chapel of the Cross 304 East Franklin Street Chapel Hill, NC, 27514 United States (map)

Do you care about the local food system and think that everyone deserves access to fresh, healthy food? Join us for our next volunteer orientation! Bring a friend and come learn about the history of hunger in North Carolina, Farmer Foodshare's mission, and how you can get involved!

Farmer Foodshare volunteers staff Donation Stations at local farmers markets, collecting donated food from farmers and cash donations from market shoppers, which is used to purchase fresh food. Volunteers make sure that fresh food from the market gets to a local recipient organization that serves a food insecure population.

Volunteers are the key to Farmer Foodshare's success. You make it possible for us to get fresh, healthy food to more people across the state and to support the farmers who grow that food! By volunteering with Farmer Foodshare, you're helping to create a healthy, sustainable, and vibrant local food system.
