Darin is one of Farmer Foodshare’s most ardent supporters. He first served on the board of directors from 2013-2019, including a term as board chair. He rejoined the board in late 2020. Over the years, he also has been an active Donation Station volunteer and donor.
Darin and his partner Jane Saiers operate RambleRill Farm in Hillsborough, NC, a certified-organic produce, egg, and mushroom farm selling to and educating the public.
Darin received his PhD in biopsychology and behavioral neuroscience following graduate work in behavioral and neuropharmacology at Rutgers University. He completed his postdoctoral work at the University of North Carolina before assuming a faculty position where he continued research into the behavioral neurobiology of addiction.
Darin has served on numerous nonprofit and corporate boards and is a slow money supporter and advocate for local small businesses in the food and farming sector. Darin has also played with the Heart of Carolina Jazz Orchestra for nearly 30 years!
