David Regan

Member of the Board
Senior Program Coordinator, Duke’s Office of Community Health

Food is a human right. It was this belief that led David away from his 10 year career as a professional cameraman, to one in public health. For the past 6 years, David has immersed himself in local efforts to support food and nutrition initiatives in Durham. David began volunteering with End Hunger Durham in 2019, which led to a role overseeing delivery of weekly meals to support seniors living in congregate housing during the height of the COVID19 pandemic in 2020. David partnered with Farmer Foodshare during this initiative to help deliver fresh boxes of produce that were coordinated with the same weekly distributions. Farmer Foodshare’s ability to bridge consumers, the organizations that serve them and regional farmers, is work David believes to be critical for achieving a more sustainable food system.

David graduated with his Master of Public Health in 2026 from UNC Chapel Hill, and he is currently a Senior Program Coordinator with Duke’s Office of Community Health. David lives in Durham with his wife Jami, and two children: Arlo and Ollie, who will eat all the peaches and apples they can get from Farmer Foodshare!
