Harriet joined the Farmer Foodshare board in 2026. She has a strong belief in the mission of Farmer Foodshare and volunteers regularly in the preparation of the boxes of food for the CSA program and the other organizations and entities with whom FFS partners.  Harriet practiced law in Durham for many years, representing injured workers and disabled individuals as well as conducting hundreds of real estate closings.  She also worked for the NC Department of Labor for six years where she was the bureau chief of the NC Retaliatory Employment Discrimination bureau which investigates complaints filed by employees who allege retaliation in the terms and conditions of employment by their employers. She is committed to justice, equity, fairness, and opportunity for everyone and has strived to live these values in her professional and personal life.
