Food Hub Program Manager
Joe Cashman brings a passion for health, community, and good food to his work at Farmer Foodshare. Before joining the team, Joe worked as a Certified Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor, helping individuals build stronger, healthier lives through movement and nutrition. He later transitioned into the food access sector with the Greater Chicago Food Depository, where he supported community nutrition and wellness initiatives aimed at reducing hunger and improving health outcomes across the city. Joe went on to expand that impact at the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina, coordinating programs that increased access to fresh, nutritious food for families across the region. During his time there, he also spoke at the National Anti-Hunger Policy Conference, sharing insights on innovative approaches to addressing food insecurity. At Farmer Foodshare, Joe continues that mission by connecting local farms with early childhood centers, community partners, and CSA members, helping to strengthen a food system that supports both the people who grow our food and the people who enjoy it.
