Local Food for Early Eaters

At some stops in our Wake County delivery route, our distribution associates are sure to be extra quiet – especially during naptime.

Earlier this year, we began providing produce for 18 early childhood education institutions. The ECE centers – ranging from small, home daycares to larger institutions – are located throughout Raleigh, Cary, Garner, and Apex, and our food hub team delivers directly to each location.

Each daycare center makes a selection from a seasonal list of fruits, vegetables, and eggs. Our partnership, made possible through Wake County NC Cooperative Extension, means these budding students receive nutritional meals and snacks while at school. Thanks to this opportunity, hundreds of Wake County’s youngest residents have access to fresh, healthy food.

In recent months, we’ve delivered cucumbers, potatoes, onions, grape tomatoes, sweet potatoes, eggs, jam, cabbage, asparagus, apples, strawberries, carrots, greens and more – all sourced from our state-wide farmer network. We are delighted to provide more fresh, local food for our community while supporting the hardworking NC farmers who grow it!
