PORCH-Hillsborough: Friends in the Food System

Farmer Foodshare has been working with PORCH communities for more than a decade. Their various hunger-relief programs ensure families all over the Triangle have access to good food.

PORCH Hillsborough began in 2011 with a mission to fight hunger in northern Orange County, providing thousands of pounds of food across 30 neighborhoods with an incredible network of volunteers, coordinators, and partner organizations. We delivered our first food boxes to PORCH Hillsborough in 2022 and are proud to support their work with fresh produce grown by our local farmers.

Recently, we had the opportunity to show a few folks from PORCH Hillsborough around Farmer Foodshare. They toured the food hub where several hundred of our food boxes are packed for them by our staff and volunteers. We love sharing a glimpse of food hub operations with our community partners who we get to collaborate with in supporting our local food system. Thank you all for visiting!
